• Case reports can only be submitted online.

• Authors need to confirm during submission that written informed consent has been obtained by the patient(s) to present the data and images. All data and images must be anonymized.
• Case reports should not be submitted if the following applies:
  • the case report has been published or accepted for publication in a print or online journal before the case submission deadline (15 January 2024). Publication of the case report in a scientific journal after the submission deadline is not in conflict with presenting it at EULAR conference 2024. 
  • the case report was presented at a scientific meeting more than 12 months prior to EULAR 2024
    
    Presentation of an abstract or information thereof at another conference between 1 September 2023 and acceptance notification of the abstract for EULAR 2024 (week of 25 March 2024) is possible. This must be indicated on the abstract submission form.
     
• Case reports accepted for the congress are subject to the EULAR Embargo rules. With the submission of an abstract, the authors agree to the embargo rules.

• Select the related disease topic of the case report.
  There are 27 topics by disease. The correct disease must be selected to ensure correct scoring. 

  The correct track and disease must be selected to ensure correct scoring. This does not apply to track E (PAED).

  Tracks C and D have different subcategories.

• We have introduced the use of “Keywords” in the submission process. All submitted case reports are mandated to select at least two and a maximum of five keywords in the list provided on the submission page. These keywords should be related to your case report.
• Please ensure that your abstract does not contain spelling, grammatical or scientific errors, as it will be reproduced exactly as submitted. No proofreading will be done.
• The inclusion of trade names/brand names is NOT allowed in the case report. The mentioning of agents/molecules must follow the scientific standard for publications.
• The presenting author can be any of the listed authors without affiliations to industry.
• Conflict of interest: It is the intent of EULAR to provide high quality sessions focused on educational content that is free from commercial influence or bias. Thus, the submitting author of a case is requested to declare any potential conflicts of interest for all authors during the cases' submission

• It is mandatory to use the case report template provided by the system. Please read all instructions carefully before preparing your case report.

• Counting towards the 1800 characters (without spaces):
  • Case report title (minimum 15, maximum 150 characters)
  • Headings and content of the case report template, structured into the following sections:

1. Background
2. Case presentation
3. Learning points for clinical practice
4. References (optional)
    

• Characters not counted, but part of final case report:
  • Author first names, middle initials and last names
  • Author affiliations
  • Acknowledgements including working group
  • Working group + "on behalf of" if entered
  • Abstract number
  • DOI (Declaration of conflict of interest)
  • Invisible characters such as spaces

One Table (characters included count) OR one figure/graph/image allowed.
A maximum of one table can be included in the case report word template with the following criteria:
Combined maximum number of columns: 12 / rows: 20.
Tables can be transformed into figures.

Case reports can be re-edited and modified until the submission deadline. After the submission deadline, NO modification will be accepted by the EULAR team.

• Case reports will be reviewed anonymously. The reviewers will judge the case reports according to its educational value, relevance to EULAR, ethics, originality, standard of English and overall impression.
• Acceptance of case reports will be in one of following categories:
  • Oral presentation
  • Poster view display and presentation
• Licence agreement: The authors, represented by the presenting author, will have to sign an agreement to grant EULAR the right to use the entire presentation (slides, video and audio recording during the conference) during the congress and subsequently for (paid or unpaid) educational purposes.
• Case report not adhering to these guidelines will be rejected. If you do not agree with any of these rules, you should not submit a case report. The final decision about acceptance of a case will be taken by the EULAR Scientific Programme Committee. EULAR does not communicate, nor enter into correspondence on the reasons for acceptance/rejection of an case report.

• Accepted case reports will NOT be published in the supplement to the Annals of Rheumatic Diseases (ARD).
• The submission of case report constitutes a formal commitment by the presenting author to present a case (if accepted) orally or as a poster in the session and the time assigned by the EULAR Scientific Programme Committee. We therefore recommend submitters of case report to register for the congress at the time of case submission.
• Change of presenting author: The presenting author may be changed through the EULAR congress system by the case report submitter also after the report submission dateline but no later than 03 April 2024.
• If you need to withdraw your case report, a written statement listing the reasons for this decision must be sent to the abstract help desk at congress.abs@eular.org no later than 01 April 2024.

• Please note that all accepted case reports will be required to have the presenting authors present physically in Vienna. If, unexpectedly, the presenting author is unable to attend the congress, he or she would need to assign a co-author to present the abstract onsite.
• If the presenting author needs a letter of invitation for their visa application, they need to log in to their valid EULAR congress account - where their valid registration ticket to the congress has been purchased - and request a letter via the system. The registration team will provide them with the letter once requested. If the registration has been done by a third party, they can request a visa letter of invitation on behalf of the presenting author.
• Failure to be onsite and present the case report at the assigned day and time of presentation will result with report being completely removed from the EULAR Abstract Archive.
• Authors presenting a case report only are NOT eligible for Travel Bursaries.

• Among orally presented cases, the best case report of the year will be selected during the session by the attendees using the voting system of the EULAR Congress App.
