GENERAL SUBMISSIONS

The regular scientific abstract and the case report submissions are both free of charge.
If the abstract or case report are chosen to be part of the Oral Abstract Presentations or the Poster Tours or Viewing sessions, the presenting author is required to be on site during the congress. They must register to the EULAR 2024 Congress and pay the applicable registration fees.
Submitting authors will be notified of EULAR’s decision by the end of March 2024.
Each abstract will be reviewed by a minimum of three EULAR Scientific Committee members. The reviewers will judge the abstracts according to their scientific or clinical value, relevance to EULAR and the EULAR 2024 Congress as well as suitability of methods to aims and the description of these methods, conclusions confirmed by objective results, objectivity of statements and ethics, originality of work, standard of English, and overall impression.
All submitted abstracts will be considered for the Oral Abstract Presentations, Poster Tours and Poster views as well as for publication only.
Submitting authors and nominated presenting authors will be notified of the reviewers’ decision via email by the end of March 2024. If you have any question regarding the current status of your submission, please check your EULAR Congress account or email us at congress.abs@eular.org.
Accepted abstracts/posters will be published at the EULAR 2024 Congress event. Online publication is approx. two weeks prior to the Congress.

Yes, all abstracts can be amended until the deadline. However, you need to ensure to re-submit it. Edits after the deadline will not be possible.
Yes, if you have an abstract submission in draft, you will be sent a reminder before the submission deadline.
Yes, you are required to register to the Congress to present your oral abstract and/or poster tour or view presentations.
If your submission is chosen, you will receive an acceptance letter via email. EULAR does not issue any other additional proof of acceptance. Please use the official abstract publication, final programme or acceptance letter.

There is no limit on the number of authors allowed per abstract.
There is no limit on the number of abstracts an individual can submit.
A non-author can not be a presenter, only one of the co-authors can.
The scientific abstract template includes the following sections: background, objectives, methods, results, conclusion and references.
The case report template includes the following sections: background, case presentation, learning points for clinical practice and optional references.
Images and figures need to be included in the template you upload.
The inclusion of trade names/brand names is not allowed in the abstract, including statistical programmes or other, unless this is essential and adds value to their work. The mentioning of agents/molecules must follow the scientific standard for publications.
To keep the abstract concise, we recommend that the abstract does not go over 55 lines.
Yes. A total maximum of any two figures, graphs, images or tables is allowed per abstract, e.g. 1 graph and 1 table, or 2 graphs, or 2 images.
Abstracts with one or more tables should not have more than 12 columns or 20 rows. Tables turned into pictures/images are accepted, they but should have sufficient quality that everything is readable. Data in images cannot be edited after the abstract has been accepted.
Submitted scientific abstracts should only contain original data. Splitting of data ("salami-slicing") is usually not permitted and will lead to rejection of the abstracts, except in certain cases where the data is too big, submitters must indicate whether there are several abstracts related to a single study.
No, the EULAR 2024 Congress will be the first time that scientific abstracts and case reports must be submitted separately.
Presentation, Copyrights, Licensing

Abstracts accepted for "publication only" will be published in the EULAR Online Archive and Abstract Book as submitted. No further action is needed from the authors as it is not a poster or oral presentation. Important to note: EULAR will not accept request from authors to edit their publication once the submission deadline has passed.
All accepted abstracts will also be published in a supplement to the Annals of Rheumatic Diseases (ARD).
Accepted case reports will NOT be accepted for publication only nor will be published in the ARD Journal.

Oral Abstract
Presenters must be physically on-site and arrive in the session room between 15 to 30 minutes before the session starts. Each presenter will have 7 minutes to orally present (no pre-recording will be allowed) and 3 minutes for the Q&A.
Poster Tour Presentations
Presenters must be physically on-site and arrive in the session room between 15 to 30 minutes before the session starts. Poster presenters will have a fixed assigned time to present their poster at the assigned Poster Tour Area. Each presenter will have 3 mins for their poster presentation and 2 mins for the Q&A . (No pre-recorded audio narration will be allowed). Failure to present the abstract onsite may lead to rejection of your work at future EULAR Congresses.
Poster Tours presenters will not be required to be present at the Poster Display stations. Delegates can view posters by searching for the poster number at the available TV stations.
Poster View Presentations
Poster presenters will have a fixed assigned time (time and location details are only sent to poster presenting authors) to stand in front of their Poster Station to present for one hour. Failure to present the abstract onsite may lead to rejection of your work at future EULAR Congresses.
Oral Abstract presenters can upload their PowerPoint presentations (slides only, no recordings) online onto the EULAR Congress System by 31 May 2024, 23:59 CEST. Uploading new slides onsite in Vienna WILL NOT be possible.
Poster Tour and Poster View presentations:
Poster Tour and/or Poster View presenters must submit by 31 May 2024, 23:59 CEST. No pre-recording nor audio file is necessery, ONLY the PDF file is required. Failure to upload two weeks before congress may result with the removal of your poster from the congress programme.
The authors retain copyright to their work from the abstract submitted, including oral abstract presentation slides and posters (PDF content).

Annals of the Rheumatic Diseases (ARD) is an international peer-reviewed journal covering all aspects of rheumatology, which includes the full spectrum of musculoskeletal conditions, arthritic disease, and connective tissue disorders.

Yes, QR Codes are allowed on the posters. Please ensure that the link behind the QR code follows these rules:
“QR codes are allowed on all posters for the purpose of disseminating scientific and educational content. The information available using the QR code should be freely accessible and should not require any specific log-in. In agreement with applicable laws, rules regulating restrictions for promotional activities in the context of medical events, QR codes should not give access to company sponsored websites allowing the free access to prescription medicines advertisements.”
